Stamp Injured, Gives Up Title; ONE Denver Moved to 2026
In a significant shake-up for ONE Championship, atomweight MMA queen Stamp Fairtex has been forced to relinquish her title due to an injury setback. The Thai superstar, who has been sidelined since her championship-winning performance in September 2023, encountered issues during the rehabilitation of her surgically repaired knee, preventing her from a scheduled unification bout.
As a consequence of Stamp’s withdrawal from the highly anticipated title unification fight against interim champion Denice Zamboanga, ONE Championship has made the difficult decision to postpone its return to Denver, USA. The event, initially slated for August 1, 2025, at Ball Arena, has now been moved to June 26, 2026.
ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong expressed his disappointment, stating, “We are saddened to hear of the injury setback to Stamp and wish her nothing but the best in her road to recovery. After looking at multiple alternate headlining options that unfortunately did not come together, we have made the difficult decision to move our Denver event to June 26.”
With Stamp Fairtex relinquishing her atomweight MMA world title due to the extended recovery period, interim champion Denice Zamboanga has been elevated to the undisputed ONE Women’s Atomweight MMA World Champion. This marks a significant moment in Zamboanga’s career, who was initially set to face Stamp in the main event of the now-postponed Denver card.
Stamp, a former two-sport ONE World Champion in Muay Thai and Kickboxing before conquering the atomweight MMA division, was eagerly anticipated to make her return to competition. Her injury not only impacts her own career trajectory but also necessitates a significant reshuffling of ONE Championship’s event schedule, particularly its plans for the North American market. The promotion made its successful US debut in Denver in May 2023.
While the Denver event is delayed, ONE Championship has affirmed its commitment to maintaining a strong presence in the U.S. market with regular ONE Fight Night events broadcast during U.S. primetime. Fans will now have to wait until June 2026 to witness a live ONE Championship event in Denver.
